This is flying around the Catholic blogosphere like a free plenary indulgence offered by the Pope (he actually does that but you do have to do some other things to earn them). Father Z covers it. Kat at the Crescat covers it. Imma jump on the bandwagon and share it too because it is just so glorious.
It’s painful to see such blatant heresy come out of the mouths of “womyn” who are so “educated” in Theology. These women are apostate heretics who are doing nothing but bad for the Church and her adherents. It’s like running one’s finger nails against a chalkboard. These women really have left the Church. What is this about going to a “home church?” Let me guess … you have a womynpryst in an orange caftan with totally invalid prayers and species? Hearing that at the end only reinforced my distrust for anything that came from that prideful mouth of hers.
On the other hand, the priest (who looks like the Chrism relatively wet on his hands (translation: He’s a recent ordination within the last decade or so) and wears a crossed stole … yay!) is calm, charitable, articulate, and never talks down to them. He debates with them like a gentleman but he does not cow-tow when they speak malarcky. He uses their words against them many times and he also uses their logic against them often. It is soooooooo refreshing to see such a young priest on fire for the Truth and so capable of sharing it … even with “oh-so-enlightened” heretics.
And that’s what they are: heretics. You profess things contrary to what is the official and revealed teaching of the Church publicly and thus cause scandal within her no matter how small … you’re a heretic. Plain and simple. There is no sugar-coating it.
Following Father Z’s example, Imma give y’all homework.
Pray for this priest. It’s sad to say that he will most probably face persecution from within and without the Church. But that is one of the characteristics of the priest as alter Christus, he is to be a victim after the Victim Himself, Christ. Pray for his perserverance and growth in his vocation and his fidelity. Pray for all priests, especially young priests and seminarians. Pray to the Holy Spirit to enliven in their hearts ever-growing zeal for the Church, ALL her teaching, and for her people. It’s abundantly clear in this video that he is discussing these things with these women out of love. Not out of vitriol. Not out of a selfish desire for self-affirmation of superiority. Charity over all.
Pray for these women and all who have willingly separated themselves from the Church whether they acknowledge it or not. Besides doing untold damage to the Church, they are also putting their souls in peril with their arrogant belief that they know more than Christ and His Church because they have degrees in Theology (I would LOVE to see from where … probably some heretical Theology department at some prog SJ college/university) or “x” amount of experience in “y” and “z” places. I have experience with people like that, they use their education and experience as a justification for their heresy and it’s altogether depressing and angering. Pray that the Holy Ghost rekindle in their hearts and souls an authentic love and respect for the Church, all her teachings, and her clergy. Pray for all who are apostates, heretics, and all who are teetering on the edge … there are souls at stake, people!
I just had to share this! Share it with others! This is truly a beautiful portrayal of a priest on fire for the Faith and simultaneously a sad testament to the profound arrogance and ignorance of so many “educated” Catholics who are taking the whole “Spirit of Vatican II” malarcky hook, line, and sinker as if it were the Gospel. It also seemed to me like these ladies never cracked open the actual documents and read them all. They also seemed to be very condescending to the priest. THEY BASICALLY CALLED HIM A FUNDAMENTALIST! If I were him, I would have said, “If by ‘fundamentalist’ you mean someone who stands for the fullness of Truth revealed by Christ to His Church then, ‘thank you’ for the very high compliment!” When they started to get condescending and really smart-allecky with him, I knew that they were scraping the bottom of their intellectual barrels. I was so proud that he could cite all of the documents he mentioned and back them up with other concrete facts and not subjective emotional arguments that are only to divert from the topic at hand.
